Erling Haaland set to replace De Bruyne as highest-paid player

Manchester City striker, Erlinda  Haaland, is set to topple his team-mate, Kevin De Bruyne as the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

According to Marca, Haaland is close to signing a new contract with the champions.

De Bruyne is currently the best-paid player in the English topflight, reportedly taking home £425,000 a week.

As it stands, Haaland’s basic salary is £375,000 per week, which already places him among the club’s top earners.

However, the structure of Haaland’s contract includes a series of performance-related bonuses, which could potentially increase his weekly earnings beyond £850,000.

Nonetheless, the new deal could see him earn €24 million, £20.5m/$27m net per season
