The Confederation of African Football, CAF has lavished praise on Victor Osimhen following his impressive display in Nigeria’s win over Benin Republic on Saturday.
Osimhen was among the goal scorers as the Super Eagles defeated the Cheetahs of Benin Republic 3-0 in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday one encounter in Uyo.
The 25-year-old took the place of Victor Boniface in the 72nd minute.
The forward then scored Nigeria’s second goal six minutes later.
Osimhen slammed the ball into the net after he was set up by Wilfred Ndidi.
CAF took to social media to celebrate the powerful striker.
“Only 6 minutes were needed to open his account for the season.” they wrote on X.
“@victorosimhen9 simply can’t be stopped.”
