Forest Green relegated to the National League

Forest Green have been relegated out of the Football League with two games to spare.

Rovers were not in action on Tuesday night, but Colchester's 2-0 win over Grimsby means that they can no longer climb out of the bottom two in League Two.

It compounds a miserable couple of years for Forest Green, who have suffered back-to-back relegations after dropping out of League One last season - their first and only ever season at that level.

The year before they had won the League Two title, but their relegation ends their seven-year stay in the EFL.

They had previously never featured in the top-four leagues.
