Chelsea 'Disgusted' after Jackson Racially Abused Online

Chelsea have condemned the racial abuse on social media directed towards striker Nicolas Jackson and have said they will will support any criminal prosecutions.

Jackson's misses during the FA Cup semi-final defeat by Manchester City on Sunday overshadowed what had otherwise been a good display from the 22-year-old.

The Senegal international has scored 10 Premier League goals in his first season at Chelsea, but his misfortune in front of goal at Wembley prompted a series of racist messages on Instagram.

A club statement released on Monday read: "Chelsea Football Club is disgusted by the racial abuse directed towards Nicolas Jackson via social media, following Saturday evening's game.

"There is no place in society for any form of discrimination and we operate a zero-tolerance approach to any incident of this nature.

"The club will support any criminal prosecutions and take the strongest possible action, including bans, against any individual who is found to be a season ticket holder or member."

Sky Sports News has also contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
