Onuachu adds to Super Eagles injury list

Trabzonspor forward Paul Onuachu will spend the next six weeks on the sidelines after suffering multiple injuries while in action for the club.

Onuachu was replaced by Enis Destan in the 68th minute of Trabzonspor’s Turkish Cup win against Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday.

Trabzonspor released a statement that the giant striker suffered a groin injury and an MRI scan also showed a fracture on the left forearm.

The forward becomes the latest Nigerian star to suffer an injury, barely 20 days after the conclusion of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has not played since the end of the tournament due to injury.

Porto full-back Zaidu Sanusi is also expected to be out for about eight months after undergoing surgery this week

Vice-captain William Troost-Ekong also went under the knife this week after sustaining a hamstring injury in the competition.
