Ndidi resumes training after long injury lay-off

Nigerian midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has resumed light training and could return to action before the international break, Saturday PUNCH reports.

The Super Eagles star has not played since featuring in the Foxes 2-0 win at Cardiff last December where he sustained a muscle injury that required surgery

He missed the recent African Cup of Nations tournament due to the injury.

He was initially ruled out for three months but could step up his fitness at Seagrave next week, potentially making him available soon.

Leicester City coach, Enzo Maresca said at his press conference on Friday ahead of his side’s clash with QPR that he hopes to have Ndidi back by the time they head to Chelsea for the FA Cup quarter-final in a fortnight.

“Wilf (Ndidi) is still out, that’s it,” Maresca said.

“He already started to do some sessions with us. Part of the session, not entire.
