Lascelles Facing Nine Months Out after ACL Injury

Newcastle's injury crisis deepened after it was confirmed that club captain Jamaal Lascelles has ruptured his ACL.

Lascelles suffered the injury in Newcastle's 4-3 win over West Ham on Saturday - in which Eddie Howe's side also lost Miguel Almiron and Tino Livramento to injury.

A statement from the club said Lascelles will have surgery next week and is expected to be out for between six and nine months.

It means Newcastle are now without nine first-team players due to injury and Sandro Tonali is also currently banned from playing.
