Hibernian to cut away allocations due to 'abhorrent' fan conduct

0

Hibernian have said they are planning to reduce away allocations at Easter Road as part of a crackdown on "abhorrent" fan behaviour.

The Scottish Premiership club's board of directors have taken the decision following "fan behaviour and chanting from opposing teams this season".

They will also be "taking further actions".

The statement from Hibs "implores" other clubs to do the same, while calling on the governing bodies to make Scottish football "safe and welcoming for all".

Hibs also said that conduct such as "pyrotechnics, sectarianism, objects being thrown onto the field of play" has become rife in Scottish football in recent years.

The statement acknowledges the behaviour of Hibs' own supporters has "not been good enough at times" and says the club have taken the "strongest possible action" against those fans, working with the police to do so.

It is understood that Hearts will still be given the full away allocation of 4,000 tickets for the Edinburgh derby.I’m
