Steve Evans signs contract extension to stay at Stevenage

Steve Evans has silenced any whispers about job offers elsewhere by signing a new contract at Stevenage

He put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2026.

His success with Boro had lead to unconfirmed whispers that others, including clubs in the Championship, were after his services.

But chairman Phil Wallace says the work being done at the Lamex is just the beginning and it needs extra time to grow and become even better.

He said: "This isn’t about the results of the last few games – or even this season. The results since Steve joined us in March 2022 speak for themselves.

“We’ve moved from being a League Two struggler to a League One side challenging for promotion to the Championship.

“The points gained from the last three games are not what we expected or needed, but experiences like this make us even more determined to finish in a top-six place.
