Victor Osimhen told to shun Man United for Chelsea

Napoli and Super Eagles key man Victor Osimhen has been warned against a move to Manchester United.

The warning was handed out to the striker by former Super Eagles Media Officer and ESPN pundit Colin Udoh, who believes the striker would be a good signing for Chelsea instead.

He said the Blues have been good to players of Nigerian descent, urging the striker to move to London.

Osimhen could still leave Napoli next summer despite signing a new contract until the summer of 2026.

He has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United while Real Madrid are in the market for a marquee striker for next season.

The likes of Celestine Babayaro, Mikel Obi and Victor Moses all spent years at Stamford Bridge, winning several trophies.

“Chelsea, interestingly, have been really good to Nigerian players,” Udoh said on ESPN FC Extra Time.

“Celestine Babayaro has been there, did great; John Mikel Obi went there and did great and Mike Emenalo even when he wasn’t a player was there and did good. His son is even now being fast-tracked to the youth ranks at Chelsea.

“I think Chelsea will be a great place for Victor Osimhen. The one place I wouldn’t like to see him go no matter what happens or no matter how much money they give him is Manchester United.”

Osimhen is currently with the Nigerian senior men’s national team which has made it to the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

He is expected to lead the line when the Super Eagles tackle the Indomitable Lions on Saturday.
