Skubala Appointed Lincoln Head Coach

Michael Skubala has been announced as Lincoln City’s new head coach, the club confirmed in a statement.

The Leeds United U21s head coach has taken over from Irishman Mark Kennedy, who was dismissed by the club in October.

Skubala acted as the assistant manager to both Javi Garcia and Sam Allardyce towards the end of last season, at Leeds.

The 41-year-old took charge of three Premier League games at Leeds United, after Jesse Marsch was sacked in February. He drew one and lost two games as caretaker manager before Gracia took the permanent role.

In a statement on Lincoln City’s website, the new head coach said: “It feels great to be here, it has been a really warm welcome and I’m looking forward to getting going.”

Adding: “I’ve been here for a couple of games in the past few weeks and I’ve seen how important the fans are for the young players and how they can push the team.”

City chairman Clive Nates added that the appointment came after a “robust recruitment process”.
