Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has decided he will play at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament will be played in the Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11.
Onana’s decision means he would be unavailable for several games for United in the Premier League, the FA Cup, and potentially the Carabao Cup and the Champions League if Cameroon reach the final.
The stopper who arrived at Old Trafford this summer in a £47.2 million deal from Inter Milan, was expected to miss the tournament after a bust-up with head coach Rigobert Song at the 2022 World Cup.
The incident saw him leave Cameroon’s camp in Qatar to fly back home.
But Onana made his return as the Indomitable Lions crushed Buruni 3-0 in September and played in the 1-0 defeat to Senegal in a friendly this month
United have been unsure whether they would lose Onana at the start of 2024, but according to the UK Metro, Onana has now opted to represent his national side at AFCON.
