Zaniolo to undergo Villa medical

Nicolo Zaniolo has arrived in Birmingham to undergo a medical with Aston Villa and complete negotiations over a potential season-long loan from Galatasaray. 

Unai Emery is keen to get cover for Emi Buendia, who suffered a serious knee injury in training last week and is likely to be out for much of the season. 

Zaniolo was identified quickly as a target - Villa's transfer chief Monchi knows him well, after signing him for Roma in 2018.
