Lennon interested in Hibs return

Former Hibernian boss Neil Lennon has expressed his interest at returning to the club.

Lennon, who won the Scottish Championship with the Edinburgh side in 2017, last managed Omonia Nicosia until last year.

As a manager he has also won the Scottish Premiership five times with Celtic – adding four Scottish Cups and one League Cup to their trophy haul. And he also won the Cypriot Cup in 2022 with Omonia.

When asked if he was interested in the vacant Hibs job, Lennon told PLZ Soccer: “Of course, because I have been there before. It’s a big club. It’s got potential. But there’s been change after change after change – there’s been no consistency at coach level. It’s probably the most important role in the whole football club. So they have to get the appointment right in terms of a bit of longevity and stability.

“I’ve watched Hibs a few times this year. Going forward they have got some really good players and good speed in the team. But defensively they are not working hard enough and that needs to be corrected before making any sort of progress at all.”
