Sporting Lisbon interested in Celtic winger Abada

Sporting Lisbon are interested in Celtic winger Liel Abada.

The Portuguese club are considering a move for the 21-year-old, in particular if they lose Marcus Edwardsthis summer.

A number of Premier League clubs are keen on former Tottenham academy star Edwards, and he would be 

open to a return to England. 

Abada is expected to be Sporting’s first-choice replacement if Edwards leaves, but they will also face competition from Ajax, who want to sign him.

The Israel international scored 13 goals and assisted nine last season, despite many of his appearances coming from the bench.

Despite his young age, Abada has Champions League experience with Celtic – for whom he has scored 28 goals and provided 20 assists in 101 appearances since signing from Maccabi Petah Tikva in 2021.
