Stoke have appointed former player Paul Gallagheras the club's new first team coach.
The 38-year-old - who played for the club 47 times across two loan spells - retired in May 2021 and immediately stepped into a role as first team coach at Preston.
At the bet365 Stadium, he links up with former manager Alex Neil.
“The chance to work with Alex again was naturally appealing to me," he said, speaking to the club's official website.
“I am fortunate to have experienced his methods first hand and have a complete belief in his philosophy on the game and how he delivers and communicates that to the players, which is something I have benefitted from both as a player and as a coach.
“I am really thankful for the chance to return to Stoke City and excited by the opportunity we have to build a successful team.”
