Villarreal coach Setien ponders top 4 finish; happy Jackson stayed

Villarreal coach Quique Setien refused to set any goals after victory over Celta Vigo yesterday.

The win has Villarreal on track for a late run for a top four finish.

Setien said: “I prefer not to think too much about it. I prefer to think about the game in Valencia, since our objective is to reach the end of the championship with a high spirits and with options to be there.

"We are getting there and now we have an advantage, but this can change from one week to the next. Sometimes you are at the top, other times behind, the important thing is that there are fewer left and the mood is high.

"Despite the fact that today the sensations have not been as good as other times, we have taken the result. We are going to recover well and prepare for Wednesday's game."

Nicolas Jackson was among the goalscorers for the 3-1. The winger was close to joining Aston Villa in January.

Setien added: "It is true that Jackson was closer to leaving, but fortunately we gained a good player. The first thing I told Jackson when he came back was that he would be worth twice as much, and he was convinced of it."
