UCL: Bernardo Silva equals Lionel Messi’s record in Man City’s 4-0 win against Real Madrid

Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva has matched Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski’s records following his first-half brace against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final second leg at the Etihad on Wednesday.

The Portugal international became the only third player to score at least twice against Real Madrid in a Champions League semi-final game.

The other players to have achieved this are Lionel Messi, when he scored a brace in the first leg of the 2010-11 semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu and former Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, who bagged four goals in the first leg of the 2012-13 semi-finals at Signal Iduna Park.

Silva gave Pep Guardiola’s side the lead at the Etihad in the 23rd minute with a smashing left-footed effort at the near post.

The Portugal midfielder netted the second in the 37th minute with a header.
