Transfer: Man Utd coach, Ten Hag obsessed with signing England World Cup star

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag is ‘obsessed’ with signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer, with the Red Devils plotting an early summer move for the England World Cup star.

Ten Hag is desperate to bring in a new striker this summer, with Kane leading a shortlist that also includes Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.

Ten Hag is determined to bring Kane to Old Trafford, while Man United are wary of entering a war of attrition with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

They view Kane as a player who can transform Man United into title contenders.

Kane will enter the final year of his contract with Tottenham this summer with ten Hag ‘obsessed with the 29-year-old’, the Guardian reports.

Reluctant to enter a lengthy transfer saga as they did last summer in their bid to sign midfielder Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, Man United will attempt to have a ‘smooth negotiation’ with Tottenham by bidding for the player as quickly as possible this summer.

The report added that Levy is determined to hold onto Kane despite the possibility of him leaving Spurs on a free transfer next year should no deal be agreed.
