Not for free or loan – Romano confirms Chelsea’s top midfielder is leaving

Football transfer expert Romano Fabrizio has confirmed that Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic is very likely to leave the club this summer.

He said the Blues will sell Mateo Kovacic this summer as the Croatian playmaker’s existing deal is set to expire next year.

Other players set to leave Stamford Bridge are Aubameyang, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy, Hudson-Odoi, and Loftus-Cheek.

Romano said that there has been no progress in the talks over a contract extension for the Croatian international, adding that the west London outfit could be looking to cash in on the midfielder as they would prefer not to let him go on a free transfer next summer.

“For Kovacic, at the moment, there are no conversations over a new deal, so there is a concrete possibility for him to leave,” he told GivemeSport.

“It’s true that there are clubs pursuing him in Germany and also in England, of course, but nothing is advanced because Chelsea want important money. They don’t want to give players away for free. They don’t want to give players on loan.”
