Lionel Messi tells Barcelona to sign ex-Manchester United star

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi has urged Barcelona to sign former Manchester United winger, Angel Di Maria ahead of a potential summer return, according to El Nacional.

Messi is set to leave PSG in the summer and he has been heavily linked with a return to his boyhood club Barcelona.

The 35-year-old wants his compatriot Di Maria at Barcelona.

Messi and Di Maria, who currently plays for Juventus, helped Argentina win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and share a close relationship.

Di Maria, a former Real Madrid player, has scored eight goals and has provided seven assists in 33 matches in all competitions this season for Juve.

His contract with the Serie A giants will run out in the summer and the former PSG star can be signed on a free transfer.

Di Maria was previously linked with a move to Barcelona last summer, but the transfer didn’t materialize.

However, it is yet to be seen if Barcelona president Joan Laporta will grant Messi’s request and bring Di Maria to Camp Nou this summer.
