United States midfielder Weston McKennie's loan spell at Leeds United is being called a failure.
The American was hoping to impress and eventually get a permanent move to the club.
However, the 24-year-old has struggled in the Premier League since arriving in January from Juventus.
Ex-USA international Alexi Lalas has issued a scathing indictment of the move.
“Whatever happens over the next four games the loan will be looked at as a failure. We'll talk about this more later, but it has not been successful," Lalas told his State of the Union Podcast.
"The criticism McKennie has had has been fair and warranted.
