I’m pleased with you, great man – Van Persie hails EPL manager after latest win

Former Arsenal forward, Robin van Persie has hailed West Ham manager, David Moyes as a ‘fantastic person and a fantastic coach.’

This was after the Scot guided the Premier League side to the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday evening.

West Ham scored the only goal through Pablo Fornals in the injury-time to seal a 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar and a 3-1 victory on aggregate against the Dutch club.

West Ham will now play Fiorentina in the final at the Eden Arena in Prague on June 7.

Persie believes that Moyes, who was sacked after just 10 months in charge at Manchestrer Trafford, deserves success with the Hammers.

“I’m really pleased for David Moyes. I worked under him for a year, he’s a fantastic person and a fantastic coach as well,” Van Persie told BT Sport.

“It was difficult for him at Manchester United but I’m really pleased for him because he loves the game. He’s a really good coach.

“I’m just really happy for him. He deserves it. You’re a great man and a great coach.”
