EPL: Thierry Henry tells Balogun to leave Arsenal after switching allegiance to USA

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has told young striker Folarin Balogun to leave the club.

He said this after the player announced that he has now switched his international allegiance from England to the United States of America.

Henry noted that Balogun needs to be playing consistently and Arsenal would not promise him that.

The former France international said the 21-year-old should find a team where he is going to play regularly next season, rather than return to Arsenal where he is not guaranteed game time.

Balogun spent last season on loan from Arsenal at Reims where he has scored 20 goals so far in all competitions.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are ahead of him in the pecking order at Arsenal, while Mikel Arteta’s side are linked with other forwards.

“I don’t know if he’s going to play for Arsenal,” Henry said on CNS Sports.

“He’s been great in the league. Now he’s going to have to find a team where he’s going to play next year, that’s very important.”
