EPL: He’s too expensive, Arsenal can’t afford him – Martin Keown on England midfielder

Former Arsenal defender, Martin Keown fears England midfielder, Declan Rice is ‘too expensive’ for Arsenal.

According to Keown, Arsenal cannot afford to buy Rice, who currently plays for West Ham United.

Rice, 24, has been heavily linked with a move away from West Ham this summer.

He has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Liverpool and even Chelsea in the past few days.

“I think Declan Rice is going to be too expensive for Arsenal, quite frankly,” Keown told talkSPORT.

“I think he will be too expensive for Liverpool as well, who have been in the [UEFA] Champions League now for a number of years.

“He is a player Arsenal will like, but not with those costs involved, I think it is too much. Looking at Arsenal’s business, I don’t think it is a route they will go down.

“I don’t think they have got the money, even though the Champions League will bring some more revenue. I don’t see him as a player Arsenal can afford to buy.”
