Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness has heaped praises on Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez, insisting that the Argentina World Cup winner has a big influence on those around him.
Martinez joined Manchester United in a £56.7 million deal from Ajax last summer.
Many questions were raised over the 5ft 9in defender’s lack of height in comparison with other Premier League centre-backs.
However, the 25-year-old has been one of Man United’s standout performers this season.
“I thought Martinez would get found out in the Premier League because of his physique,” Souness wrote in his column for MailOnline.
“I still believe that will be an issue for him going forward – but he is one who leads from the front for United and has a big influence on those around him.”
