Arsenal manager Arteta recognises new centre-half needed

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta may have to readjust his transfer plans for the summer.

With a midfielder the prime target for much of the past few months, he may have to turn his attention to defence.

After losing 4-1 to Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday without William Saliba, Arsenal's flimsy depth was called into question.

With the Gunners struggling with Saliba's absence in recent weeks, Rob Holding has come in for a lot of criticism.

Arsenal manager Arteta and director Edu will be tasked with finding reinforcements in the summer.

Without a top class defender and other players to beef up the squad, they may have a hard time competing for the Premier League with the addition of European football next term.
