Manchester City scout Paul McLaren has been tempted to sign for Newcastle United.
The Magpies are bringing the highly rated McLaren to St James' Park, per Chronicle Live.
Part of sporting director Dan Ashworth's plan for the club is to build a top notch network of scouts around the world.
McLaren, who played for Luton, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Tranmere, Bradford City and Oxford, has worked at Arsenal as well.
His role will likely be centered around scouting for the club's Academy.
Newcastle want to ensure they are bringing in the best young players from England and other parts of the world.
