Motherwell chiefs warn Bologna, Brighton: Johnston happy here

Bologna are battling Brighton for Motherwell prospect Max Johnston.

The 19 year-old has emerged as an exciting prospect over the past year and is wanted by several clubs abroad, with Bundesliga interest also arriving

Well manager Stuart Kettlewell told Lanarkshire Live Sport: "If he has been offered a new contract? Absolutely yes.

"The club has always appreciated him, it has always known how good he is. I think I demonstrated with the formations and the way I worked what I think of him. He also knows it personally... The offer for renewal was there because we see him as part of what will be in the future a team that has become synonymous with producing its own players.

"I read the news anyway and I understand that the big teams will be interested in good players, but there has been no direct contact with me or the club members and we are convinced and determined on where we want Max to go and what we want to do with him.

"I had a conversation with him, he is very focused on the work to be done, wants to be successful here and play for Motherwell. That's all I need to know."
