He can do everything – Michael Dawson hails Man United star ahead of Liverpool clash

Former Premier League defender, Michael Dawson has hailed Manchester United defender, Lisandro Martinez, saying that the Argentina international can do ‘everything’.

Many football pundits questioned Manchester United’s move for Martinez, who was described as ‘very short’ but Erik ten Hag insisted on signing the Argentine from Ajax for £57m last summer

People doubted his physicality and felt he might struggle in the more physically demanding English topflight but the 25-year-old has become a mainstay in United’s squad.

Martinez came in and displaced the likes of United’s captain, Harry Maguire from Ten’s XI, starting 19 games this season.

Former Tottenham star Dawson told Sky Sports, “He’s phenomenal.

“But he’s strong, he’s physical and he’s so brave. We knew he could pass the ball from Ajax but he’s composed

“He can do everything, he really, really can. It’s his bravery for me, that’s what I like.

“He puts his body on the line and that’s his job. He’s been a great signing.”

Third-placed Manchester United take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday as they look to continue to mount pressure on league leaders Arsenal and Manchester City.
