Steve Cooper names best team in the world, slams VAR after draw with Man City

Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper has slammed the video assistant referee, VAR, following their 1-1 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

He said that VAR let the referee down while describing Manchester City as the best team in the world.

“You are playing against an incredible team – the best in the world at domestic level,” he said after the game.

The manager noted that his team needed a bit of luck to record a draw against the Cityzens.

Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-1 to climb to the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday and could have maintained the top spot with a win at Forest.

However, Arsenal are back on top and now two points clear of the champions with a game in hand.

Cooper noted that his side put a plan in place to try and execute it but was disappointed with the video assistant referee.

“I’m disappointed with VAR – it’s a clear foul on Joe Worrall for the goal. VAR has let the referee down there,” he said to Sky Sports.
