EPL: Mikel Arteta tells Arsenal to sign LaLiga midfielder

 

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has told the club to sign 24-year-old Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi in the summer transfer window.

Zubimendi is open to joining Arsenal at the end of the season after turning down a move to the Premier League leaders in January, as he is keen to finish the current campaign with Real Sociedad.

Real Sociedad have informed Arsenal that Zubimendi’s €60million release clause will need to be triggered in order for the transfer to happen.

However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, Arteta has now personally asked Arsenal’s hierarchy to bring in Zubimendi in the summer.

Arsenal will have to battle Barcelona who are also keen on Zubimendi.

Zubimendi has made 26 appearances for Real Sociedad so far this season across all competitions.
