Christian Atsu: I pray he’s still alive – Player’s wife breaks silence after Turkey earthquake

 


Marie-Claire Rupio, the wife of former Chelsea winger, Christian Atsu has broken her silence on her husband’s whereabouts following the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Atsu’s whereabouts remain unknown following the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

The Ghanaian star, who has been missing under the rubble since after the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, currently plays for Turkish club, Hatayspor.

In an interview with the BBC, Marie-Claire Rupio said she still prays and believes Atsu is alive.

She said, “He is still trapped under the rubble, but the problem is they don’t have the necessary equipment needed to get them out.

“So he is still missing, and they don’t know where he is.”

“I still pray and believe he’s alive.”

Atsu played 107 games for Newcastle United and had spells with Chelsea, Everton and Bournemouth during his time in England.

The 31-year-old has won 65 caps for Ghana national and joined Hatayspor last September after a season with Saudi Arabian team, Al-Raed.
