Anderlecht chief Fredberg explains Forest move collapsing for Van Crombrugge

Anderlecht chief executive Jesper Fredberg has stated that Hendrik van Crombrugge rejected a move to Nottingham Forest.

Forest managed to seal a £1.5 million agreement to sign the goalkeeper from Anderlecht in January.

The Sun revealed the details of the transfer at the time, but the deal did not go through, and now the reason has been made clear.

“Hendrik himself chose not to go to the Premier League," CEO Fredberg said in an interview with La Derniere.

"As managers, we can try to find solutions, but we cannot decide for the players. That's just how it is. Hendrik is a good boy, and we are happy with him as a keeper."

Forest eventually moved on to signing Keylor Navas on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
