Villarreal boss, Setien talks up Chukwueze after win over Valencia

Villarreal manager Quique Sentien eulogized Samuel Chukwueze after the winger opened his goal account in LaLiga this season against Valencia on Saturday.

Chukwueze increased his haul this season to six goals and six assists in all competitions after his superb strike at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

The Yellow Submarine rallied back to win the game, with Chukwueze cancelling out Edison Cavani’s strike late in the first half.

Juan Foyth netted the winner for the UEFA Europa League winners in the second half.

Chukwueze has enjoyed a consistent run of form since Setien took over from Unai Emery.

The goal against Valencia was his 30th overall for Villarreal.

“He (Chukwueze) is a player who was already important before my arrival, and now, he is at a good level,” Setien told reporters.

“Where I have had to think the most has been in the top positions, I have six players who could have started perfectly. Both Samu and the rest know that they have to give things to keep their position.”
