UNCOVERED: Ten Hag met Weghorst in Holland as Man Utd and Burnley discussed terms

Agents for Wout Weghorst are in talks with Besiktas this morning to relocate him to Manchester United.

On-loan from Burnley, Weghorst has told Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Çebi directly he wants to be allowed to leave for United. It's understood Cebi accepted the player's transfer request and assured him he would explain the situation to coach Senol Gunes.

The Dutchman's wife left Istanbul on the weekend and is now preparing for the family to return to the Northwest of England, says Fanatik. Indeed, it's suggested they plan to move to a new home in Cheshire close to United manager Erik ten Hag.

It's also been revealed Ten Hag met with Weghorst immediately after the World Cup to discuss a move to Old Trafford. The pair met in Haagsbergen where Ten Hag assured the striker talks had already been held between United and Burnley.

Gunes confirmed Weghorst's transfer request last night: "I heard the development too. It's not clear yet.

"'If you say to me, would you let leave Weghorst?' This happened with Cenk Tosun. We do not know about the developments. We do not know if it will happen. I do not technically look positively at the transfer. However, it has an economic and administrative side. The player has made a request."
