EPL: David Seaman reveals Arsenal’s major problem this season, warns Arteta

 

Arsenal legend, David Seaman, has revealed that the club’s current problem under their manager Mikel Arteta is that they only have one striker at the moment following Gabriel Jesus’ injury.

Seaman also warned Arteta that he risks ‘upsetting’ striker Eddie Nketiah with his approach in the ongoing January transfer window.

Arteta supposedly wants to sign a new striker in January to provide cover for the injured Jesus.

Jesus could be out of action for three months after suffering a knee injury at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

However, in Jesus’ absence, Nketiah has netted four goals in four matches since the conclusion of the World Cup.

But Arsenal could still sign a new striker this month, and Seaman believes this could be a mistake.

“The problem you have got is you don’t know how long Gabriel Jesus is going to be out for,” Seaman told talkSPORT.

“If that is a shorter-term injury, then no, you don’t [need a replacement]. If it is longer term, then you have got to think about it because you don’t want Jesus and Nketiah being back at full fitness and then another striker is overload.

“Does that upset either striker? I am sure it would upset Nketiah if he was not getting game-time. It’s a difficult one, and it all depends on the injury status of Jesus, how long is he going to be out for?”

He added, “But the problem is that we have only one striker and to cope for that many months until Gabby Jesus is back isn’t easy.

“We have to get the most out of the players that we’ve at the moment, but it will be great if we can get some reinforcements.”
