Aston Villa were extremely eager to make Spain international Nico Williams their record signing.
However, their offer for the 20-year-old, which would have activated his £45 million release clause, was not successful.
While his club Athletic Bilbao would have accepted the offer, Williams has decided to stay loyal.
The young attacker, brother of Inaki Williams, is not in a rush to leave the Basque club.
Nico was going to be offered a long-term deal at £120,000 a week by Aston Villa.
Now, per the Daily Mail, Villa will have to turn their attentions to other targets.
