Qatar 2022: France President, Macron decides on taking Benzema to World Cup final

France’s President, Emmanuel Macron wants to take a group of injured national team players to the 2022 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday.

Players such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba have all missed out on France’s awesome FIFA World Cup campaign due to separate injuries sustained in recent weeks.

However, Macron wants to get Benzema, Kante, and Pogba, among others, involved at the final hurdle by bringing them along for the World Cup final tie against Argentina this weekend.

According to MARCA, France’s sports minister, Amelie Oudea-Castera, confirmed Macron’s interest in bringing injured players to the World Cup final in a bid to support Les Bleus against Argentina.

Oudea-Castera said: “I know that he is keen to do it and that it is being studied. We will see if it is possible.”

Meanwhile, France head coach Didier Deschamps was recently asked after his team’s World Cup win over Morocco whether Benzema, who of late returned to training, might feature from the bench during the final against Argentina, having recovered from injury.

Deschamps replied with a rather blunt statement: “Next question.”
