EPL: Arsenal go 7pts clear at the top of Premier League table

Arsenal have opened a seven-point gap at the top of the Premier League table, following a 3-1 win over West Ham on Boxing Day.

The Gunners had to fight back from a goal down to take all three points in their first game after the 2022 World Cup.

Said Benrahma converted from the spot to give the Hammers the lead, after William Saliba fouled Jared Bowen in the box.

However, Arsenal fought back in the second half, thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah.

Mikel Arteta’s men now have 40 points, seven more than second-placed Newcastle United and eight more than champions Manchester City, who travel to Leeds on Wednesday.
