Zlatan Ibrahimovic slams Kylian Mbappe for making himself 'more important' than PSG after signing an eye-watering £540m deal

AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has slammed Kylian Mbappe for trying to be bigger than PSG after details of his new massive contract were revealed.

The 23-year-old French star signed a three-year contract extension in May after the French champions successfully convinced him to continue his adventure in Ligue 1.

The full details of that deal have now revealed with his contract believed to be worth around £540million over the course of the three-year duration with a third of the amount [£180m] being included in last season's accounts.

That new deal makes up the bulk of the French giants staggering losses of £317million for their most recent set of accounts for the 2021-22 season.

The mega new deal also includes having a say in sporting decisions at the club, and recently  it was reported that he wants to leave the club in January.

Mbappe has openly slammed boss Christophe Galtier's tactics and also appears to have fallen out with team-mate Neymar.

Former Sweden international Ibrahimovic has claimed the Frenchman is trying to be bigger than the club with his behaviour since signing his new deal.

Ibrahimovic told French outlet Canal Plus: 'Mbappe has put himself in a situation where he is more important than the club. But you should never be bigger than a club because you are not.'

The 41-year-old also claimed that there is 'nothing to talk about' in Ligue 1 since he left France's top division - despite having the likes of Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar, stating that it lacks 'god.'

'Since I left France, everything is going down, they have nothing to talk about anymore in France', he added.

'France needs me, I don't need France. Even if you have Mbappe, Neymar, Messi, it doesn't help you, because you don't have god.'

Ibrahimovic played in France between 2012 and 2016 for current champions PSG, winning four consecutive league titles before he departed for Manchester United.

The former Inter Milan and Barcelona star made 185 appearances for the French giants during his time at the club, scoring 156 goals.
