World Cup: They have scary squads – Messi names two countries to challenge Argentina

Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, has suggested that France and Brazil pose the greatest threat to his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Messi said both France and Brazil have plenty of quality scary players with potential in their squads that can challenge Argentina at the World Cup this year.

This year’s World Cup is set to commence on Sunday, November 20.

Argentina are in Group C at the World Cup alongside Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland.

“France are good. They have some players injured, but they’ve a scary amount of potential in the squad. They have top players and a coach [Deschamps] that has been there for a while with the same group and already won the last World Cup,” Messi told Universo Valdano (as quoted by ESPN).

“Brazil also have a core of players with a lot of quality, especially in the final third where they can beat men, they’ve good No.9s, Neymar.”

Messi added, “We have a good core, too, and players in good form as well.”
