Stellini: Tottenham players enjoyed fireworks - they didn't last long!

Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini gave his response to Marseille fans disturbing the team's players ahead of their Champions League tie on Tuesday.

The London club had to work hard and come from behind to defeat the French side to progress to the knockout stages of the competition.

Marseille fans set off fireworks right outside the Spurs hotel the night before the game, attempting to get the players to have a restless and sleepless night.

Asked about the matter pre-game, as coach Antonio Conte was suspended, assistant Stellini stated: "We slept well, we enjoyed the fireworks, they were a bit short."

Marseille were bundled out of Europe entirely thanks to the result.

They finished fourth in the tight group, with Spurs topping it and Eintracht Frankfurt finishing second.

Sporting CP will go into the Europa League from the group.
