Mount and Chelsea happy with contract talks

Chelsea believe they have made positive progress in contract talks with Mason Mount.

The England star is preparing for the World Cup with his international teammates.

Mount, who has 18 months remaining on his Chelsea deal, is in danger of being sold in the summer if he does not renew with the club.

However, The Athletic claims that a “positive breakthrough" has now emerged in talks between Mount's reps and Chelsea.

The player is now keen to sign a new contract, with the 23-year-old wanting to stay at Chelsea.

Mount came through the club's academy, and may even sign his new deal right after the World Cup.
