Leicester manager Rodgers: Dewsbury-Hall must learn from halftime hook

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers believes that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall should treat the defeat to Manchester City as a way to learn.

The Citizens managed to best the Foxes 1-0 in the Premier League, with Dewsbury-Hall coming off at half-time to be replaced by Papy Mendy.

The 24-year-old had been a regular starter until then, but does have areas to improve, according to his coach.

Asked if Dewsbury-Hall was a tactical switch, Rodgers said post-game: “No, he just kept losing the ball.

“It's a game where you're restricted when you're in possession, and it's something as a team we need to be better at.

“We need to conserve the ball better, we're in too big a rush at times to score and we end up giving the ball away in the wrong areas.

"Papy can come in and stabilise the game. He keeps the ball and he can play with minimal touches to keep the ball. I thought he did well when he came on.

"Kiernan's been brilliant for us. That's a great learning game for him and for some of the other players. That was the reason."
