EPL: Fernandes finally responds to Ronaldo’s interview with Morgan, handshake incident in Portugal’s dressing room

Manchester United star, Bruno Fernandes has given a coy response to teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Fernandes also spoke about the recent viral handshake incident between him and Ronaldo in the Portugal dressing room.

Ronaldo recently spoke to Morgan Uncensored and hit out at Man United, the Glazer family, their manager, Erik ten Hag, former teammates Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville, among others this week.

When asked about the handshake incident as well as Ronaldo’s remarks, Fernandes told Sky Sports: “I didn’t read the interview.

“As I said before, now it is the national team. It is Portugal. The coach made a point that it is us. He made that point when I came to the national team in 2017.

“That’s still clear. In his mind, the main thing is the national team. We’ve to be focused on the World Cup.

“Cristiano [Ronaldo] has done really well to play at five World Cups – this will be his fifth time. Everyone is ready for that and everyone wants the best for the team.”

On the handshake, he added: “I was watching one of the channels that said it was cold and bad.

“They went on a commercial break, the national team sent them footage with the sound, and the sound revealed that he was joking with me.”
