Crystal Palace co-owner Textor rubbishes Lyon plans for Freedman

Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor has denied he wants to take sporting director Dougie Freedman.

Textor is in talks to buy Lyon as he looks to increase his sporting portfolio, which already includes Brazilian club Botafogo.

Textor is also co-owner at Crystal Palace and reports in France had claimed he wanted to appoint Freedman at Lyon.

Freedman was spotted at a Lyon game recently and it was reported he was being lined up for a role at the French club.

"Fake news, all of it," Textor tweeted, tagging the club account.

“Dougie Freedman is lock focused on Palace; watches games all over Europe…makes me glad all over!"
