Benfica refer Liverpool to Fernandez buyout clause

Benfica insist they won't sell Enzo Fernandez in January.

Record says Benfica are not prepared to part ways with Fernandez this January.

The midfielder has been the centre of attention in recent days after his goal for Argentina at the World Cup, fuelling talk of a potential move to Liverpool.

Record have stated the Reds are among the Premier League clubs who 'lead' the pursuit for Fernandez, though it is stated Benfica have made their stance of being 'unavailable to negotiate' his exit in January due to viewing him as a 'key element' in the squad.

Any interested side would be required to pay his €120m release clause to stand any chance of a January agreement.
