Almeida tells Portugal fans on Man Utd striker Ronaldo: Stop being ungrateful

Hugo Almeida insists Qatar 2022 will be the "Ronaldo World Cup".

Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's problems at Manchester United, his former Portugal teammate says he will dominate Qatar.

Almeida told O Jogo: "He's going to be himself at the 2022 World Cup and he's going to explode again. He feels great and I think he has a lot to give to the national team and to Portugal.

"Without a doubt, he'll transcend himself again in his fifth World Cup. It will be a Ronaldo World Cup.

"By the way, the Portuguese must be very grateful to Cristiano Ronaldo for everything he has done over the years for our country and national team. Everywhere he goes, he elevates our name to the highest level of world football.

"Be very grateful and don't think about a less good situation that he is living. The Portuguese are a little ungrateful about that. They should be supportive. It's enough to see people from outside criticising him."
