Everton are still in the sights of US investors looking to help provide financing to complete their stadium project.
The club are working on a new ground at the Bramley-Moore Dock.
However, they need financing to complete the project, with the Liverpool Echo stating the money could come from US investors.
KAM Sports LLC, led by US real estate tycoon Maciek Kaminski, are one of the groups with an interest.
US special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) LAMF Global Ventures is also engaging in preliminary talks.
The goal is to raise financing for the stadium in a way that is sustainable for the club in the long-term.
There is also the possibility that one of the groups that ultimately invests or helps finance the stadium may even fully take over the club from owner Farhad Moshiri.
